New Guideline: Principles of Climate Adaptation and Mitigation for Practitioners
The climate is changing. Historical climatic design data is becoming less representative of the future climate. Many future climate risks may be significantly under-estimated. Engineers and geoscientists cannot assume that the future will be like the past. Historical climate trends cannot be simply projected into the future for engineering and geoscience planning, design, operations and maintenance of infrastructure. This guideline is intended to set out general concepts and principles to inform practitioners on why adaptation to and mitigation of climate change is relevant in professional practice. Centralized Information Hub: Energy and Building Codes
Help us get ready for the new energy code! Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba is leading a project to create a centralized information hub so practitioners like you have all you need when new energy and building codes come into effect next year. This one-stop-shop website will have Manitoba-specific guidance, training resources, and compliance tools. But we need your help to get it right! Please take this short survey and help us make sure the hub is clear, practical, and genuinely useful in your day-to-day work building projects for Manitobans.

Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba Family Legacy Bursary Draw
EngGeoMB is accepting applications for the 2026 Family Legacy Bursary Draw. Five bursary prizes are given to the children of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba members. Applicants must be Canadian residents and must be enrolled full-time in the first year of an engineering or geoscience program at a CEAB accredited Canadian university or college. The application deadline is September 1, 2026. This year, The Family Legacy Bursary Draw will be expanded to include the children of Specified Scope of Practice Licensees. Habitat for Humanity Manitoba Open House Tour - Monday, September 14, 2026
This special behind-the-scenes tour will provide members with an opportunity to see firsthand how Habitat Manitoba creates affordable homeownership opportunities for local families. Guests will tour the future home of Alicia and her two sons, Esteban and Caleb, who will soon be moving into a renovated home through Habitat Manitoba's Affordable Housing through Renovation program. Participants will receive a guided tour with Jamie Hall, CEO, Steve Krahn, Senior Vice President of Program Delivery, and Thomas Hoffman, Director of Construction, who will share insights into the project, Habitat's build process, and the lasting impact affordable housing has on families and communities.
