National Volunteer Appreciation Week 2026 - Sunday, April 19 - Saturday, April 25, 2026
National Volunteer Week is a time to recognize and thank the incredible volunteers who support Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. 2026 has been proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development, highlighting the global importance of volunteerism in building stronger communities. We are proud to celebrate our volunteers and look forward to our Volunteer Appreciation Event on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada.


Call for 2026 Council Applications
The Nominating Committee is now accepting nominations for individuals interested in serving on Council. This is an opportunity to play an active role in guiding the direction of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba and contributing to its governance. Those who are interested are asked to complete the Council Application Form and submit it, along with their curriculum vitae (CV) to the attention of the Nominating Committee c/o the Association at Info@EngGeoMB.ca, or by other standard contact methods by the deadline. The deadline is 4:30 p.m., Friday, April 24, 2026. For more details and information, please see the Nominations for Council Elections.

Certificate of Authorization Renewal Reminder
Certificate of Authorizations are currently renewing for the period of Friday, May 1, 2026, to Friday, April 30, 2027. Thank you to those who have already renewed. Renewal notices have been mailed out to the listed authorized designates. All companies who hold a Certificate of Authorization must submit their renewal payment by Thursday, April 30, 2026. If the company is no longer providing engineering and/or geoscience services within the province of Manitoba, please complete and return the Certificate of Authorization cancellation form. Renewal payments can be made online by credit card, submitting a cheque by mail, or by contacting the Association office by phone at (204) 474-2736.

Arab Members Chapter Presents: Lake Manitoba and Lake St. Martin Outlet Channel Project - Saturday, April 18, 2026
Lake Manitoba and the Lake St. Martin Outlet Channel Project are a major flood mitigation initiative designed to better regulate water levels and reduce the risk of flooding in surrounding communities. The presentation will feature speakers Mohammed Zeid, Jaime Smith, and James Betke, touching on project purpose and background information, environmental and consultation process, and more. CDA Manitoba Networking Event: Pints, Projects and Peers - Tuesday, May 12, 2026
To kick off the event, attendees can take part in a brief speed networking session to meet new industry contacts. The event will then feature an update on the CDA Dam Safety Guidelines Revision Project, followed by a technical presentation by Stantec's Justin Saj on the Park Lake Dam Reconstruction Project. RRC Polytech: Free Energy Code Training for Engineers
RRC Polytech is offering free Energy Code courses for engineers through the Codes Acceleration Fund. These courses help engineers stay current with evolving energy code requirements and strengthen code application and compliance knowledge. Geologize Communications Courses: Free Access for EngGeoMB Members, Licensees, and Interns
Geoscientists Canada has renewed and expanded its collaboration with Geologize for another two years (2026 - 2028), continuing to provide free access for all licensed and registered members to Geologize's critically acclaimed online training - Practical Geocommunication. Also included is a brand-new Mining Communication course, with a mining focus but designed to help geoscientists in all disciplines develop stronger, clearer, and more impactful messages about the profession's role in modern society. Both courses count toward Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours. For more information, please read the full event listing.
