By-law Review Committee Seeking Input on Draft By-law Proposal
The By-law Review Committee is seeking member input on potential by-law changes for the 2022 year. Members are invited to read the drafts and provide written feedback. Volunteer Opportunities
Making Links Engineering Classic (MLEC) - June 16, 2022
Two volunteers are required to be onsite at Quarry Oaks Golf Course in Steinbach from 10 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, to assist with running fundraising games and/or a hole in one competition. Volunteers must be outgoing and comfortable engaging with people. As this event is taking place outside on a golf course, volunteers must be able to stand for long hours and be outside all day (rain or shine). Meals will be provided for the volunteers. Volunteers must be able to drive to the golf course on their own, or arrange carpool, volunteers will be allowed to expense mileage. How to Counter Gender Bias in STEAM Education - June 1, 2022
Join Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba's Director, Equity and Representation, Lisa Stepnuk, EIT, for this one-hour virtual session which will explore some of the research on intersectional gender biases that exist in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) education e.g. early gender gaps in math and english, present some Manitoba statistics on gender ratio imbalance in engineering and its high school pre-requisites, and more. Building Code: National Fire Code Requirements for Buildings - June 3, 2022
This half-day session will provide participants with a basic understanding of the 2015 National Fire Code of Canada (NFC) requirements for fire department access to buildings, maintenance of fire protection systems, and the storage and handling of dangerous goods in buildings.
