The Council of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba invites
all practitioners to an online engagement session on May 17, 2022. The purpose
of this meeting is to report on the activities of Council with topics
including report from the President, Act Amendment and By-laws, Governance
Review, Admissions, and more. For more information and to register, see the

If you have not already renewed the Certificate of
Authorization held by your company to provide engineering or geoscience
services in Manitoba, please do so before the certificate expiration date of
April 30, 2022. Renewal notices were mailed out to listed authorized designates
in early March. All companies who hold a Certificate of Authorization must
submit a renewal payment or complete a
canellation
form. Renewal payments can be made
online
by credit card, or by contacting the Association office.
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba are proud to announce a
new award category for 2022, intended to recognize an undergraduate
engineering or geoscience student or group of students who have shown
excellence in, and/or major contributions to, the concept/design of a
groundbreaking engineering or geoscience project/thesis. Nominations will be
considered for their innovation, impact, complexity, and feasibility, and the
winner will receive a
$1000 cash prize along with the 2022 Student
Achievement Award, to be presented at the EngGeoMB Awards Event in October
2022. The deadline for nominations is
Friday, May 6, 2022. For more

Through Labour Market Development Transfer Agreements,
the federal government transfers funds to all of the provinces and territories
to help them deliver programs to develop their labour force. The Job Grant is a
Manitoba program that is funded under one of these Transfer Agreements. For

As part of the Association's strategic commitment to
achieve Council policy End 5: Practitioners Reflect the Diversity of the
Public, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba is launching support co-working
sessions for women and gender-diverse interns. Co-working sessions are simply
dedicated timeslots to keep up with the report submissions required to
progress toward licensure alongside other interns. Think of them as study
groups for getting your professional status. For more information, please

Join EngGeoMB's Director of Professional Standards, Mike
Gregoire, P.Eng., FEC, for this in-person lunch 'n' learn session exploring
the topic of professionalism. Intended to deepen learning and provide a forum
for group discussion, all attendees are required to have completed the online
learning module 'Introduction to Professionalism' prior to this event. This
event is offered free of charge for those who wish to bring their own lunch
(coffee and soft drinks available). For those who prefer to have their lunch
provided, there is an optional lunch offerd for $13 plus GST when booked

This course is a foundational training on equity,
diversity, and inclusion (EDI) to help individuals develop competencies in
inclusive behaviours and emotional intelligence. EDI in engineering and
geoscience means fostering professional environments and relationships that
welcome and advocate for diversity among professionals and enable all
professionals to contribute to their full potential without barriers or
