Council invites all members to participate in open online engagement sessions discussing potential by-law changes for 2022. Engagement sessions will be held today on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Additional information about the proposed by-law changes can be found in our news story.

The Association is pleased to offer school groups the opportunity to take part in a modified version of our popular annual engineering challenge by having their spaghetti trusses broken during a live virtual event, taking place on Wednesday, March 23, 2022. Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba has developed a series of online learning modules to help practitioners find more accessible ways to fulfil their ProDev requirements. The Introduction to Professionalism module is currently active, with plans to add more modules in the future. The Nominating Committee is looking for four new members: three professional members, one of which needs to be a professional geoscientist, and one intern (engineering or geoscience) who have a well-connected network with other professional members, an understanding of governance, succession planning, board/Council functions, as well as experience in the field of Human Resources. The Nominating Committee assists Council in identifying election candidates for councillors for the upcoming election, replacing any vacancies on Council who meet the criteria for councillors as described in the Governance Policy, in a manner consistent with the Act and by-laws, and takes into consideration the broadest possible diversity of the membership. Nature-based Infrastructure Solutions to Enhance Resilience (A BRACE/MCRT Course) - February 23, 2022

This course, hosted by Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba, is the ninth and final Building Regional Adaptation Capacity and Expertise (BRACE)/ Manitoba Climate Resilience Training (MCRT) course in the nine-course Foundational and Infrastructure path specifically recommended for infrastructure professionals. This 90-minute introductory course delivers three brief sessions on defining natural infrastructure, key planning and design considerations, and financing considerations with benefit-cost analyses. Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba invites members to join this exclusive three-hour training session on dealing with micro-aggression and conflict in the workplace, presented by certified mediators Delia Joseph and Karen Ridd.
