The 2026 Spaghetti Bridge Competition: New Records, Big Donations, and Plenty of Pasta Pulverization
During Provincial Engineering and Geoscience Week 2026, EngGeoMB saw an outstanding turn-out as 1,372 enthusiastic students from across Manitoba came together to design, build, and put their trusses to the test in the annual Spaghetti Bridge Competition. Together, they achieved an impressive total load-bearing capacity of 12,693.7 kg - a true testament to their creativity and engineering skill. 2026 Women's Mentorship Program Wrap-Up Event
On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the EngGeoMB Women's Mentorship Program wrapped up their yearly activities with a celebration at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights. At the event, over 100 engineers and geoscientists gathered for food, networking, and an inspirational talk from 2025 Judith Weiszmann Women in Engineering Champion award winner Suman Suri, P.Eng. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen, and keep your eye out for next year's Women's Mentorship Program registration re-opening in August. Academic Review Committee - Multiple Positions Available
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba is seeking professional engineers in Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Civil, or Biosystems engineering to serve on the Academic Review Committee. This committee plays a key role in reviewing academic assessments for first-time applicants and supporting the integrity of the admissions process. Volunteer as a Judge: Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS) 2026 - Multiple Positions Available
Volunteers are needed to serve as judges for the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium (MSSS), Manitoba's largest science fair for students in Grades 4 - 12. As a judge, you will evaluate engineering and geoscience projects for the Association's Special Awards and engage with students as they present their work. Judging will take place Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Max Bell Centre, University of Manitoba, with a brief judges orientation provided in advance.
