The Engineer-in-Residence Program
The Engineer-in-Residence program (EIR) is an engineering outreach program which pairs engineers of all levels, whether licensed professionals (P.Eng.), Engineers-in-Training (EIT), students, or retirees with local classrooms for ongoing engagement throughout the school year. Engineer volunteers are invited into the classroom approximately once per month to collaborate with teachers, offering support during lessons, sharing personal experiences or presentations, and engaging with students through Q + A sessions. Together, engineers and educators co-create tailored STEM activities and lessons to support the curriculum, enriching the students learning experience. Opportunities are still available across Manitoba for the 2024/2025 school year. For more information and to apply as a volunteer, please see the Engineer-in-Residence website.
