Mentorship Program: Registration Now Open for 2023
Last year, the Association piloted a new mentorship program
that is open to members and practitioners at different stages in their professional development.
2023 Registration is now open to interns (EIT/GIT), professional engineers,
professional geoscientists, specified scope of practice licensees, and senior members registered
in good standing with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.

Canada Offering Complimentary Geocommunication Course
Through Geoscientists Canada, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba has acquired a professional
development opportunity which allows all our registrants FREE access to Geologize's critically

Ruth
Eden Memorial Scholarship to Benefit Female Identifying Engineering
Students The Province of Manitoba, with the support of the Eden
family, will be establishing a $60,000 memorial scholarship fund at the
University of Manitoba in memory of Ruth Eden to support female-identifying
students studying civil engineering. Minister of Transportation and
Infrastructure, Doyle Piwniuk announced the scholarship on Tuesday, November
8, 2022, at the Price Faculty of Engineering. For more information about the

Manitoba Climate Resilience Training Working Group (MCRT) -
Multiple Positions
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba was successful in receiving funding from the
Manitoba Government for climate change training and is now looking for volunteers
from a variety of sectors, such as biosystems, geoscience, buildings, and transportation;
experience in greenhouse gas reduction activities, methods, or technologies to join the
MCRT Working Group. The MCRT working group is tasked to update the BRACE/MCRT 1.0
training courses in adaptation and then plans to develop and deliver new courses to
address mitigation. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer for the working group, please review the

Central Canada Mineral Exploration Convention -
Multiple Positions
The Central Canada Mineral Exploration Convention is taking place November 14 and 15
at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre, Winnipeg, and is looking for various volunteers
to assist with registration, exhibitor setup, usher, greeter, and AV assistant.
Volunteers will receive complimentary registration to the full conference with a minimum four-hour shift.

Competency Based Assessment (CBA) Virtual Session -
November 29, 2022 Competency Based Assessment (CBA) is conducted to
determine whether applicants have progressed to a professional level of
competency in their field during their engineering or geoscience work
experience. This virtual information session will provide an overview of CBA
and may be of interest to prospective applicants, new graduates, current
interns, and anyone interested in learning about the CBA process. Find more

2022 Central Canada Mineral Exploration Convention (CCMEC) -
November 14 -
November 15, 2022
CCMEC 2022 is taking place on November 14 - 15, 2022. The convention focusses on bringing
investment to and showcasing the mineral exploration and mining sector of Manitoba,
Saskatchewan, and northwestern Ontario. The two-day event will bring forth all
stakeholders in the mineral exploration and mining industry in central Canada
including investment firms, exploration and mining companies, Indigenous groups,
Government officials, prospectors, ESG organizations, suppliers, and academic
institutions, while showcasing innovation and advancement in the sector.
