The University of Manitoba Engineering Society and the
Price Faculty of Engineering invites members of the campus and engineering
community to a virtual memorial service on Monday, December 6, in remembrance
of the victims of the Montreal Massacre at Ecole Polytechnique. To learn more

The Keystone Professional Committee is responsible for the
release of information to the public via the publication of
The
Keystone Professional. The committee is looking for a professional
engineer or geoscientist, intern, student, or assessment candidate who can
participate in regular meetings to discuss current issues relating to
engineering and geoscience, has a keen interest in writing and editing
articles of interest for publication, and who has previous writing and

The Registration Committee (RC) is a committee of Council
made up of registered professional members from both engineering and geoscience
disciplines. The committee is responsible for conducting the final review for
members and interns who are moving forward towards final registration. RC is
currently seeking new professional members to join the committee, and while all
members are welcome to apply, the committee is most in need of professional
members with expertise in the following areas:
mining, mechanical/HVAC,
geological engineering, or geoscientists. See the

Climate Change Risk Assessment: Core Principles -
November 29, 2021
This is the third Building Regional Adaptation Capacity
and Expertise (BRACE)/Manitoba Climate Resilience Training (MCRT) course in the
nine-course Foundational and Infrastructure path specifically recommended for
infrastructure professionals. This course provides a consistent foundation of
core climate change risk assessment (CCRA) principles and approaches for all
BRACE sector audiences. It will explore core concepts such as hazard
identification, vulnerability assessment, risk assessment, and how to use CCRA
processes to identify, assess, and prioritize climate impacts to inform climate
adaptation planning. Check out the

Engineers
Geoscientists Manitoba has launched support co-working sessions for interns
who are women and gender-diverse to keep up with the report submission
requirements to progress toward licensure. Registration is open for the
remaining 2021 session in December,
with more sessions planned every second Thursday in early 2022. To learn more
about the co-working sessions and what is expected of participants, please

Hosted by the Winnipeg Construction Association and
facilitated by Dr. John Frye, P.Eng., FEC, and Geoff Mikolayenko, Administrator
of Commercial Inspections, City of Winnipeg, this session will help
participants gain an understanding of the application of Subsection 3.2.3.
Spatial Separation and Exposure Protection of the 2015 National Building Code
of Canada. The application of Subsection 3.2.3. is one of the first steps in
building design and analysis and is reflected by the City of Winnipeg Part 3
