The Filipino Members Chapter currently has a 2021 scholarship opportunity to award $1,500 to a non-Filipino student member. To be considered, students must be affiliated with an Association Chapter that is not the Filipino Members Chapter. Association renewals will open on November 15, 2021, for the 2022 year. Renewal notices will be sent via email to the preferred email address indicated in your online profile. To ensure your renewal notice is received in a timely manner, please log in to your online profile and confirm that your contact details are correct and up-to-date. If you'd prefer to receive a printed copy via mail, please indicate that preference in your online profile. The deadline to renew your membership for the 2022 year is December 31, 2021. Any renewals submitted after this date may be subject to a late fee.

The Keystone Professional Committee is responsible for the release of information to the public via the publication of The Keystone Professional. The committee is looking for a professional engineer or geoscientist, intern, student, or assessment candidate who can participate in regular meetings to discuss current issues relating to engineering and geoscience, has a keen interest in writing and editing articles of interest for publication, and who has previous writing and editing experience. The Registration Committee (RC) is a committee of Council made up of registered professional members from both engineering and geoscience disciplines. The committee is responsible for conducting the final review for members and interns who are moving forward towards final registration. RC is currently seeking new professional members to join the committee, and while all members are welcome to apply, the committee is most in need of professional members with expertise in the following areas: mining, mechanical/HVAC, geological engineering, or geoscientists. This is the fourth Building Regional Adaptation Capacity and Expertise (BRACE)/Manitoba Climate Resilience Training (MCRT) course in the nine-course Foundational and Infrastructure path specifically recommended for infrastructure professionals. Participants in this course will learn about the Climate Atlas of Canada, associated risks, vulnerabilities and opportunities across Manitoba, the difference between adaptation and mitigation strategies, and how to apply climate variables in decision-making processes.
