The Association is planning
a mentorship program to support engineers and geoscientists throughout the

The Royal
Canadian Air Force (RCAF) Foundation is awarding 25 scholarships in the amount
of $1,000 each for post-secondary students pursuing STEM studies. Designed to
assist students who are interested in finding careers in aviation and aerospace
industries, applicants may apply under four scholarship categories that cater
to a variety of different demographics. The deadline for submissions is Monday,
July 19, 2021. Eligible applicants must be 25 years or younger as of September
1, 2021. To learn more, see the

We are still seeking assessors for the Competency Based
Assessment (CBA) pilot. Assessors are those who determine if applicants have
progressed to a professional level of competency in their field of work. This
volunteer opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to give back to their
profession, but is unable to commit to monthly in-person meetings due to work
commitments, travel restrictions, childcare, etc.
Professional members in the following disciplines are encouraged to
apply: civil, electrical, computer, aerospace, and project
management/construction management. For more information on this opportunity,
see the
call for volunteers.
Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba has partnered with
Engineers of Tomorrow to pilot their Engineer-in-Residence (EIR) program here
in Manitoba for the 2021-2022 school year. Engineers will be matched with a
classroom in the province to support STEM curriculum with experiential
learning, real-world examples, and hands-on engaging engineering activities on
a monthly basis.
We are still encouraging professional engineers, interns,
or engineering students who enjoy working and sharing their experiences with
youth to apply. As there are many French immersion and Francophone schools in
the province, volunteers who are fluent in French are also encouraged
to apply. For more information about this opportunity, please see the
call
for volunteers or the
news
story.
