In the
summer of 1993, many Manitobans became familiar with Habitat for Humanity when
former US President Jimmy Carter came to Winnipeg to support the building of 19
homes for low income families to own. Our Association members were among the
seven hundred volunteers who picked up hammers and saws for the official launch
of the Habitat for Humanity project in Winnipeg. This is just one of the many
events where our volunteers have given their time to make life work better in
Manitoba. To learn more about this build and other volunteer opportunities,

Looking for something fun to do this summer? How about a joining
us for a scavenger hunt? The scavenger hunt is designed to inspire Manitobans of
all ages to think about the engineering and geoscience activities and projects
all around us that affect our day-to-day lives, habits, communities, the Earth
and waterways, and all of their inhabitants. Prizes are available to all
residents of Manitoba therefore share with friends and family to get them
learning about engineering and geoscience in Manitoba! See the
news
story for more information.
As part of our
Centennial celebrations, the Centennial Outreach Task Group invited
practitioners to join us in giving back to our community through two Build Days
with Habitat for Humanity. On July 15 and 16, over 50 volunteers and Association
staff rolled up their sleeves to work together on Habitat's first
even condo development site. We are truly grateful to the volunteers who
gave their time for such a worthy cause. Learn more about the initiative by
