In April of 1969, Judith Weiszmann, P.Eng, FEC was one of the first female engineers registered to practice in the Province of Manitoba. Despite significant barriers and skepticism near the beginning of her career, Judith eventually overcame all
of them and went on to pioneer a successful 40-year long career as a structural engineer. She was given the Association's Award of Merit in 1995 and, in 2016, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba introduced the Judith Weiszmann Women in
Engineering Champion Award in her honour. To learn more about Judith Weiszmann, see the
full news story.
Two weeks left to submit your abstract! Planning is still underway for our Ingenium Conference in October. The Association welcomes abstracts for presentations and workshops on any topic related to engineering and geoscience and the professionals which practice in
those fields. For more information, see the
Call for Abstracts. The Ingenium Task Group is also
interested in hearing what topics interest you, e-mail your suggestions to

Did you know that the Association now has ten member chapters? We'd like to welcome our two newest chapters; the Pakistan Members Chapter and the Nigerian Members Chapter. Visit our
Chapter webpage for a
listing of our current chapters. Practitioners are encouraged to affiliate with Association chapters through your
online member profile. Affiliation with a chapter is not exclusively based on
