This is notice that on March 3, 2020, Mr. B.S. Ellis, P.Eng. consented to the registration of a conviction and issuance of a 30-day suspension (effective March 3, 2020) on a charge of professional
misconduct in accordance with section 35(1)(f) of The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act. The conviction arises out of Mr. Ellis violating the practice restriction
from practising structural engineering that was issued to him in June 2019.

On March 27 our Association turns 100 years old! An Act respecting the engineering profession was passed and assented on March 27, 1920 in the
Legislative of the Province of Manitoba. At that time, the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Manitoba became a body, politic and
corporate, with perpetual succession and common seal. Our first Association President was M.A. Lyons and 168 engineers were registered with the Association.

During the first week of March, over one thousand students from Winnipeg and surrounding areas put their engineering skills to the test in the

th annual Spaghetti Bridge Competition. Students aren't the only ones who benefit from the competition.
Since 2010, Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba has donated over $207,000 to Winnipeg Harvest, enabling them to distribute over 4 million kilograms of food

Certificate of Authorizations are currently being renewed for the period May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2021. Renewal notices have been mailed out to the listed
authorized designates. All companies who hold a Certificate of Authorization must submit their renewal payment by April 3 or complete a
cancellation form.
